Mexico City, July 26, 2023.- Committed to a solid sustainability strategy, Grupo Rotoplas set the goal of being a carbon-neutral company by 2040 and, for this, the Mexican company, through its innovation hub INNWAI , launched the "Challenges in Plastic Materials", a call with which they seek to support proposals that contribute to achieving one of their main challenges: reducing the carbon footprint of their products made of plastic.

Being aware that plastic pollution is one of the main causes of the current planetary crisis, Grupo Rotoplas seeks to incorporate innovative materials such as additives, bioplastics, compatibilizers, nanoparticles, etc., which could be implemented in its portfolio of solutions without compromising the quality backed by 45 years of experience in the industry.

According to Sofia Paredes Zamorano, Manager for Technology Liaisons at Grupo Rotoplas, “Innovation is a key factor for sustainable development, because innovative ideas make it possible to improve production processes and offer creative solutions to environmental problems. This is the reason why we invite companies, entrepreneurs, startups, researchers, research centers and civil society organizations to participate in our call, since it is an excellent opportunity to become agents of change”.

The deadline to participate in the call is September 24, 2023. The call is targeted at those solutions that are in a development stage close to the market, or products already established in it. The proposals with a favourable evaluation will begin a process to possibly collaborate with Rotoplas, for which performance tests will be carried out. Proposals can be submitted at: https://innwai.rotoplas.com/convocatorias.

“Solutions that help us incorporate a higher percentage of recycled resins into the company's products can participate. We will also consider those that use resins or materials that do not come from fossil fuels. It is important to mention that all the proposals will be evaluated independently, on a case-by-case basis, by a team of specialists from the Group, and if the testing stage is successful, the selected organizations could become Rotoplas suppliers”. Paredes addee.
